A dragon curled nose to tail, jaws closed on a small sphere, carved by hand from a single piece of citrine. Colour pools to deep amber where the body is thickest and pales to straw along the wing, light carrying clean through both. Each scale is cut as a separate lozenge, matte against the polished hide, the eye incised deep. It stands unaided on a flat base, the sphere taken from the clearest zone of the rough — no second stone would repeat the pose.
